another check on the photo contest, texture. this is kind of a double check, since it is one of my paintings...which is another artistic endeavor i need to re-pick up...maybe when we get back from the trip. i feel as i hit my twilight years (34) i am reconnecting with my inner artist-dude.

i really do like bugs. i won't get too near spiders, or even those creep millipedes (of which there was once one in our basement...i won't post that picture here though...brrrrr...) but beetles are pretty harmless in my mind.

i love me some wonder woman. when i was a kid, it was my favorite show on tv (along with the muppets, of course, and dr. who, which scared the crap out of me with that creepy intro music.) one of the highlights of my life was meeting Lynda Carter. my bestest friend from my college days and her partner (meredith and jill) got me this a few years ago for my birthday.

this is the bridge we had to walk across when traffic was backed up for miles in Costa Rica. and by bridge, i totally mean some planks thrown up on some metal. and by thrown up, i mean sort of put there with no real thoughts about making sure there were no huge ass gaps. but it was pretty cool.

also, it should be noted that this monkey looks like it had been in a knife fight. as i was taking it's picture, the park ranger said "just be careful, it attacked a tourist lat week." rock. i made it out alive, so no worries.

finally, spring is around the corner. which means it is almost time for our cherry blossom picnic! yay! it is amazing how these cheesy pink flowers are so awesomely beautiful. and yes, this is another one of those "oops, hey that came out ok" kind of pictures.

so two dogs is interesting. they are totally in their "not sure who is in charge, but i want it to be me" stage. anyway, Dex is just awesome. he totally needs some training, but absolutely loves getting affection from bryan and myself.

it was GORGEOUS out today. let me reiterate my desire for winter to be done. 

hopefully two dogs doesn't slow down my picture posting, but i will have at least 365 pictures posted by the end of the year, no worries!

obviously not the kind of photo i have been posting, but i wanted to show the newest member of our family, Dexter! or Dex for short. They are learning how to play together, which seems to be ok, so far! obviously, one is doing better then the other, but Dahlia is coming around.
